How many people would admit, i completely understood what transpired between Agent Smith and Anderson before the penultimate climax in “The matrix revolutions”. Well i would and people in Zee studio management understood as well.
They started subtitling for prime time movies. That helped this small town boy to understand why Hitch shouted at Sara during speed date. Seeing the popularity , they extended to non-prime hours. Eventually Zee studio become the favourites amoung people like US.
Then HBO , Star Movies followed suit. The light at the end of the tunnel was not obvious to Sony Pix. They changed their prime time slot to compete with fellow movies channels. Still that didnt help , they do have to follow the dickat left by zee studio.
Still they are experimenting with subtitles for few time slots. Hope they expand it to other prime time slots atleast.
The business of subtitles have amazed me. They think f***,a**, d**n it are phrases not suitable for indian audiences. Does the censor board we can’t read the lips and find out the silenced words?
